JAMESTOWN – Another armed robbery has been reported in the city of Jamestown, this time on the east side of town.

According to a report released Tuesday morning by the Jamestown police Department , investigators are looking into an armed robbery that reportedly took place at the 7-Eleven store at the corner of E. Second and Buffalo Streets, just before 2 a.m. Tuesday.

According to police, store employees say that an unknown subject entered the store and walked directly behind the service counter, displayed a handgun and ordered the employees to the floor. The witnesses said the subject then fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6′ 2″ with a wide nose. He was also wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black boots.

This is the third time in less than ten days that an overnight robbery has taken place in a local store. Early Monday morning, March 24, a masked white-male walked into the 7-Eleven on N. Main St. in Jamestown, showed a knife and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes. Early Wednesday morning, two masked men walked into the CVS store in Brooklyn Square with one displaying a knife and made off with cash, cigarettes and medication.  The two suspects in that incident were also described as being white males.

Anyone with any information into this morning’s crime or either of the ones that occurred last week is asked to call Jamestown Police at 483-7531, or their confidential tip line at 483-8477.
