JAMESTOWN – Chautauqua County’s largest hospital is continuing its effort of partnering with other healthcare facilities in the region. On Monday, Officials from WCA Hospital and UPMC Hamot in Erie, Pennsylvania announced they have signed a strategic affiliation agreement that will expand access to healthcare services and resources in the region. The affiliation enables WCA Hospital to retain control of the hospital and the services it provides while affording the community the expertise and resources of UPMC Hamot, which is now part of UPMC, an academic medical center.
WCA Hospital President/CEO Betsy Wright said Community hospitals across the nation are facing extraordinary challenges in today’s uncertain healthcare environment, adding that WCA is very excited to work alongside UPMC Hamot to provide greater opportunity moving forward into the future of healthcare delivery. She said some of the new opportunities include recruiting new physicians and providing additional local specialty services.
