JAMESTOWN – Phase 2 of leaf collection in Jamestown will begin Friday, Nov. 13 in the Foote Avenue and Ivy Street area of the city and will move west, clockwise, to the Chadakoin River in the Jones & Gifford Avenue area.
After Phase 2 has been completed, DPW crews intend to return to designated Phase 1 areas, weather permitting.
Residents are advised to rake leaves to the terrace area and not into the street. No yard waste, brush, hedge trimmings, garden debris or tree lumber will be collected.
Residents are advised the potential for discolored water when crews are working in their area.
As a reminder, the final day that the Jamestown Board of Public Utilities (BPU) Yard Waste Site will be open in 2015 is from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14. The yard waste site will then be closed for the winter and reopen in the spring.
