JAMESTOWN – Two of the six suspects involved in the July 1 home invasion on Falconer St. that resulted in a shootout with police have been indicted by a Chautauqua County Grand Jury on several charges, including robbery, sexual assault and criminal use of a fire arm.

In a media release sent out Tuesday afternoon, Jamestown Police Captain Robert Samuelson said Jaqwan Martin and Maqwan Martin, both 23 and from Buffalo, were the two suspects who were located at the scene of the home invasion that took place at 188 Falconer St. The two men were indicted by a Grand Jury and are now facing several charges from a 22 count indictment that was handed down last week.

The two each face four counts of first degree burglary, six counts of first degree robbery, three counts of first degree sexual abuse, one count of criminal sex act in the first degree, two counts of criminal use of a firearm in the first degree, two counts of first degree criminal possession of a weapon and four counts of second degree assault. The two are currently being held in the Chautauqua County Jail on $1 million cash bail.

On July 1 at about 3 a.m., a group of seven men are accused of invading a home at 188 Falconer Street and assaulted the residents inside the home. When police arrived on the scene to investigate, one of the suspects allegedly fired at the officer. As a result, the officer returned fire and may have possibly hit the individual.  However, the alleged shooter, along with two other men, fled out a window and were not apprehended. Police did, however, locate both Jaqwan Martin and Maqwan Martin inside the home that morning. Later that afternoon, two other men allegedly connected to the burglary were spotted and arrested while walking on the railroad tracks in Celoron. And on July 3, two addition individuals allegedly connected to the case were located in Buffalo and arrested. A seventh man, believed to be the one involved in the shootout with officers and who may have been hit, is still on the loose.

Anyone who may have information on the case are asked to call the Jamestown Police Department at 483-7531 or can leave an anonymous tip at the department’s anonymous tip line at 483-8477 (Tips). All calls will be kept confidential.
