{"id":4557,"date":"2013-03-01T14:58:39","date_gmt":"2013-03-01T19:58:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wrfalp.wordpress.com\/?p=4557"},"modified":"2013-03-01T14:58:39","modified_gmt":"2013-03-01T19:58:39","slug":"4557","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.wrfalp.com\/4557\/","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CELORON &#8211; Officials with the village of Celoron will have to wait another year to see if they can secure state funding to help develop the waterfront in the village along <strong>Chautauqua Lake<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>According to a recent article in the Jamestown <em>Post-Journal<\/em>, village officials have met with members of the <strong>Western New York Regional Economic Development Council<\/strong> to get an update on their requested funding for a proposed waterfront revitalization project around <strong>Lucille Ball Memorial Park<\/strong>. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>But there is some doubt that the village will see any money in the next round of funding. That\u2019s because Village Mayor <strong>John Keeney<\/strong> says that officials with the development council turned down the village, citing a grant application that was not written well enough.\u00a0 However, the mayor went on to say that village officials were instructed on how to reapply next year with a better chance of receiving funds.<\/p>\n<p>In December, the state program awarded $52.8 million to 58 other projects in Western New York to improve local infrastructure and create jobs.
