Chautauqua County Legislature Oath of Office (1\/3\/2022)<\/p><\/div>\n

Four new legislators were sworn in at the Chautauqua County Legislature<\/strong>‘s organizational meeting Monday.<\/p>\n

Republican Marty Proctor<\/strong> replaced Bill Ward<\/strong> in District 18 with Dave Wilfong<\/strong> replacing Bob Whitney<\/strong> in Jamestown District 11. Both Procter and Wilfong had previously served on the Legislature. Democrat Billy Torres<\/strong> replaced Chuck Nazzaro<\/strong> in Jamestown District 9. Nazzaro had chose not to run again. Democrat Susan Parker<\/strong> replaced Christine Starks<\/strong> in Fredonia District 4.<\/p>\n

The legislature also voted to replace Mark Odell<\/strong> on the Legislature with John Penhollow<\/strong> of Sinclairville. Odell had resigned in July after moving out of the district, but his name remained on the ballot. Penhollow was appointed to fill his term last year.<\/p>\n

Legislator Pierre Chagnon<\/strong> was unanimously elected the chair of the Legislature.<\/p>\n

The legislature approved the reappointment of Ned Barone<\/strong> as Public Defender. The appointment is a 2-year term.<\/p>\n

They also appointed Olivia Lee<\/strong> as the new Clerk of the Legislature. Lee replaces Kathy Tampio<\/strong>, who is retiring after 10 years as Clerk. Legislator Chagnon and County Executive PJ Wendel<\/strong> presented Tampio with a commendation for her service at the meeting.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
