\"\"<\/a>JAMESTOWN – The city of Jamestown will likely have to redistribute a portion of the $10 million in state funding it was awarded over three years ago.<\/p>\n

In May 2017, the city received a $10 million grant<\/a> through round 1<\/a> of the New York State Downtown Revitalization Initiative<\/strong> program. The money was initially earmarked for 10 different projects.<\/p>\n

According to the plan approved by the state<\/a>, $600,000 was set aside to help coordinate and supplement local efforts to provide All-Season programming to attract people to Downtown Jamestown. A Downtown Programming Fund<\/a> was set up to hold the money, with the Jamestown Local Development Corporation<\/strong> serving as the agency to recommend how it would be spent down, with the state giving final authorization.<\/p>\n

In 2019, over half the money was allocated to ten different events designed to attract visitors to the downtown:<\/p>\n
