MAYVILLE – Thursday was the deadline for candidates to hand in their petitions to the Chautauqua County Board of Elections<\/strong> in order to to run for office in the 2017 general election.<\/p>\n This year\u2019s election features races for several local offices, including County Executive<\/strong>, County Clerk<\/strong>, and all 19 seats in the Chautauqua County Legislature<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Already announced candidates include Republican George Borrello<\/strong> (Irving) and Democrat Mike Ferguson<\/strong> (Fredonia) running for the open seat of County Executive after Vince Horrigan<\/strong> announce at the start of this year he would not seek another term in office. Running for county clerk will be Republican incumbent Larry Barmore<\/strong> of Gerry, being challenged by Democrat LeeAnn Lazarony<\/strong> of Cassadaga.<\/p>\n10 out of 19 Legislature Seats Uncontested<\/strong><\/h3>\n
