{"id":19617,"date":"2016-09-30T09:50:11","date_gmt":"2016-09-30T13:50:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wrfalp.com\/?p=19617"},"modified":"2016-09-30T09:50:11","modified_gmt":"2016-09-30T13:50:11","slug":"listen-alex-foulk-hockey-game-celebration-set-for-saturday-at-northwest-arena","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.wrfalp.com\/listen-alex-foulk-hockey-game-celebration-set-for-saturday-at-northwest-arena\/","title":{"rendered":"[LISTEN] Alex Foulk Hockey Game, Celebration Set for Saturday at Northwest Arena"},"content":{"rendered":"<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"100%\" height=\"166\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"no\" src=\"https:\/\/w.soundcloud.com\/player\/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fapi.soundcloud.com%2Ftracks%2F285419529&auto_play=true&hide_related=false&visual=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&color=ff5500\"><\/iframe>\n<p>JAMESTOWN &#8211; Hockey games, a concert, a ceremony, and open skate are all events that will be taking place on Saturday at the Northwest Arena (formerly Jamestown Savings Bank Arena) as part of celebration and fundraiser in honor of <strong>Alex Foulk<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Alex was a Jamestown resident who lost his life earlier this year due to a heroin overdose.\u00a0 His mother<strong> Kim Carlson<\/strong> is partnering with the Arena to present the event, entitled \u201cAlex: Celebrate the Life, the Smile.\u201d The event is intended to celebrate Alex Foulk\u2019s 27<sup>th<\/sup> birthday, which would have been Oct. 4.<\/p>\n<p>The afternoon will raise awareness of substance abuse disorders and funds for the <a href=\"http:\/\/crcfonline.org\/product\/alex-george-gregory-foulk-memorial-fund\/\">Alex Foulk Memorial Fund<\/a> at the <a href=\"http:\/\/crcfonline.org\/\"><strong>Chautauqua Region Community Foundation<\/strong><\/a>, which was established to raising funding for transitional housing for those recovering from drug addiction.<\/p>\n<p>The doors open at 1 p.m. and two charity hockey games will take place at 2 and 3 p.m.\u00a0 After the second game, at about 4 p.m., a red carpet ceremony will honor families who have lost loved ones to drugs or alcohol, as well as recognize those who are in recovery.
