{"id":1438,"date":"2012-04-30T07:54:15","date_gmt":"2012-04-30T11:54:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wrfalp.wordpress.com\/?p=1438"},"modified":"2012-04-30T07:54:15","modified_gmt":"2012-04-30T11:54:15","slug":"justice-department-does-not-object-to-63rd-senate-district","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.wrfalp.com\/justice-department-does-not-object-to-63rd-senate-district\/","title":{"rendered":"Justice Department Does Not Object to 63rd Senate District"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ALBANY &#8211; The Federal Government has reviewed a move by state lawmakers in Albany to create a <strong>63<sup>rd<\/sup> Senate district<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. Attorney General <strong>Eric Holder<\/strong> released a statement last week through the justice department saying it does not interpose any objections to the establishment of a 63rd district or any other parts of the reapportionment plan approved last month by lawmakers and the Governor.\u00a0 The letter goes on to note that the AG\u2019s failure to object in no way precludes civil action against the expansion plan. Last week, several plaintiffs filed a civil suit against the plan in the <strong>New York State Court of Appeals<\/strong>.
