He has participated in expeditions to each of the world\u2019s oceans and was one of the first scientists to use a combination of robots and submarines to create detailed maps of deep sea mountain ranges.\u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Recently, Dr. Gallo was co-expedition leader on a mapping mission to RMS Titanic and co-leader of the successful search for the missing aircraft, Air France 447.<\/p>\n<p>Gallo has lectured extensively nationally and internationally and has done 10 TED and TEDx presentations. In addition, he has participated in numerous documentaries and news programs including CNN\u2019s \u201cLarry King Live,\u201d \u201cBloomberg TV,\u201d and the PBS program \u201cNeed to Know.\u201d He was recently featured in the History Channel television series, \u201cUnderwater Universe.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tonight\u2019s presentation begins at 7 p.m. in the Scharmann Theatre and is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>JAMESTOWN &#8211; Area residents interested in learning more about the world\u2019s oceans will want to be at Jamestown Community College tonight.
