Party officials can assist candidates with collecting signatures. This year four political parties have ballot lines: Conservative, Democrat, Republican, and Working Families. The BOE has more information on how to properly collect signatures, as well as the minimum needed for office being sought.<\/p>\n<p>A<strong> Primary<\/strong> race will occur whenever two or more candidates seek a party&#8217;s endorsement for the same office and submit the required number of signatures.<\/p>\n<p>Candidates <strong>not affiliated with a political party<\/strong> can circulate an Independent Petition starting April 18 and candidates can submit those petitions to the BOE between May 23 and 30.<\/p>\n<p>The following are candidates who have announced their intention to appear on the ballot for the 2023 General Election.
