JAMESTOWN – A Jamestown man faces DWI charges after being involved in a motor vehicle Crash early Sunday morning in the town of Mina that sent one person to the hospital.
Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies say the crash occurred about 3:15 a.m. Sunday on Route 430.
Investigators say 22 year-old Christopher Jones of Jamestown was traveling east when he lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway, struck several trees and overturned the vehicle.
An unidentified passenger in the vehicle sustained serious injuries as a result of the accident and was sent to Hamot Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
Jones was charged with felony vehicular assault, DWI, aggravated DWI with a blood alcohol content of .18% or great, and failure to keep right. He was arraigned in town of Sherman Court and sent to the county jail without bail.
Sheriff’s Deputies were assisted at the scene by Findley Lake Fire Department and Sherman Fire Department.

MAYVILLE -The Jamestown man who led police on a high-speed chase through Jamestown and Falconer in April 2016 will serve two to fours years in state prison for his crime.
Chautauqua County District Attorney Patrick Swanson announced the latest the pleas and sentences to come out of Chautauqua County Court, with 42 year-old Donald Dean, Sr. being sentenced on Feb. 27 for the incident that took place last spring.
According to a media release from the D.A.’s office, County Court Judge David Foley sentenced Dean on two indictments; a determinate sentence of two years in state prison plus two years of post-release supervision after being convicted of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th Degree; along with an indeterminate sentence of one and one-third to four years in state prison after being convicted of Driving While Ability Impaired by the Combined Influence of Drugs or of Alcohol and/or Drugs. All sentences run concurrently.
Also sentenced was 42 year-old Mark Myers of Jamestown. Myers was sentenced on March 23 by Supreme Court Judge Paul Wojtaszek on one count to a definite sentence of one year in the Chautauqua County Jail after being convicted of Vehicular Assault in the 2nd.
Myers was involved in a fatal motor vehicle accident that took place on Buffalo St. Ext. in June 2016, which claimed the life of his passenger, Jamestown resident Debra Wigren.

HARMONY – A 19 year-old from the town of harmony is facing charges after allegedly hitting someone with his pickup truck and then leaving the scene.
Chautauqua County Sheriff Deputies say the incident took place just before 3 a.m. Saturday morning on Weeks Road in the Town of Harmony.
Police say 19 year-old Wayne Miller was allegedly behind the wheel of a truck that struck a 16 year old, and then fled the scene. Following an investigation, Sheriff Deputies located Miller and further investigation found he had allegedly been operating his vehicle while intoxicated.
Miller was taken into custody and arraigned on several charges, including Driving while intoxicated, 2nd degree vehicular assault, and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident. He was sent to the county jail on $10,000 cash bail.
The 16 year old victim was airlifted to Hammot Medical Center for injuries and his current condition is not known. Sheriff’s Deputies were assisted at the scene by Clymer Fire Department, Panama Fire Department and New York State Police.
