Denise Jones, The Resource Center president and chief executive officer; Randy Ordines, TRC Foundation, Inc. chair; and Randy Sweeney, Chautauqua Region Community Foundation executive director, complete the necessary paperwork to transfer TRC Foundation’s $2.2 million in assets to the Community Foundation.

JAMESTOWN – Since 1959, The Resource Center has provided services to people with disabilities and their families. In 1994, TRC Foundation was created to raise money to meet the unfunded needs of people with disabilities or socioeconomic challenges.

To date, TRC Foundation has awarded more than $1 million in grants.

Recently, Denise Jones, Resource Center president and chief executive officer, and Randy Ordines, TRC Foundation, Inc., chair, announced the dissolution of TRC Foundation and the transfer of its $2.2 million in assets to the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation.

“The Community Foundation has a 40-year history of serving the greater Chautauqua region,” Ordines said. “(They) bring a vast amount of experience in fund and investment management, planned giving and fund development.”

Six funds were established at the Community Foundation to continue supporting area residents including: The TRC Foundation Fund, Laurel Run Fund, Look Good Fund, Kathy Seastedt “Look Good” Fund, Mark Pacheco WOW (Working on Wonders) Fund, and The Resource Center Excellence Awards Fund.

“Because of CRCF’s experience, and the funds already entrusted to their management, we are able to reduce our overall administrative costs while at the same time ensuring the assets of TRC Foundation will be utilized for their intended purposes into perpetuity,” Jones said.

The Chautauqua Region Community Foundation was established in 1978 and serves the charitable purpose of benefiting the people of the community it serves. It was created by, and for, the people of the Chautauqua region to help donors make a positive impact on their community by establishing a “bridge” between the donor and charitable activities.

Currently the Foundation holds nearly 750 funds and $94 million in assets, awarding over $3 million back into the community annually in the form of grants and scholarships.

“The Resource Center and TRC Foundation have profoundly impacted thousands of area residents with disabilities, as well as, their families and fellow community members,” said Randy Sweeney, Community Foundation executive director. “This new partnership with CRCF ensures that these relationships will continue today, and into the future.”

Tax-deductible donations to any of the six named funds above benefitting The Resource Center can be made directly to the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation, 418 Spring Street, Jamestown, NY 14701, or by visiting crcfonline.org. The Resource Center will also accept donations mailed to 200 Dunham Avenue, Jamestown NY 14701.
