On Saturday, May 11 just before 11:45 p.m., both Ellicott Police and the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported stabbing at a residence on Town Line Rd.  On the scene officers found that a 38-year-old male had been stabbed multiple times. Officers located the suspect, identified as 18-year-old Alec J. Stanley of Dunkirk, a short time later. He was arrested for 1st degree assault and was taken to the Chautauqua county Jail for arraignment.

The victim was flown to Hamot Hospital where he is being treated for injuries.

JAMESTOWN – A Jamestown man is in police custody after he allegedly stabbed a woman Monday morning on the city’s north side.

Jamestown Police were called to UPMC Chautauqua for a report of a stabbing victim in the hospital emergency room. A further investigation revealed the woman was stabbed during a domestic incident that took place at a home on West 12th St. around 9:30 a.m. Monday.

Police arrested 65-year-old Lonnie Fields for allegedly assaulting the woman. He was transported to Jamestown City Jail and charged with second-degree assault.

Officers and EMS crews were notified of the stabbing at 125 Sampson St. around 8:15 p.m.

The name of the person stabbed was not released. However, police on Thursday said the incident was likely a targeted attack. The victim is reportedly not cooperating with police.

The victim has been identified as 22-year-old Dylan E. Ownbey.

According to police, it is known that Ownbey was walking down Willard St with the suspect prior to the incident occurring where they were seen by witnesses fighting near that intersection. Investigators are also receiving information that a second person may have been in the area and fled down Peterson St with the original suspect. Investigators are looking for any information that may be known on the identity of the suspect or the second person who may have been in the area.

[ORIGINAL STORY]: JAMESTOWN – The Jamestown Police Department is investigating a stabbing incident that took place early Tuesday night, leaving one person dead and the suspect still on the loose.

According to Jamestown Police Captain Robert Samuelson, the stabbing took place near the intersection of Willard and Peterson Streets at about 7 p.m.

Two men were reportedly seen walking down Willard St. when they began to fight with one another. One of the men reportedly stabbed the other man before running off on Peterson St. towards Sciota St.

Samuelson says it’s believed that the two men may have been acquainted with one another as they were seen walking together prior to the altercation.

The victim is a 22-year-old male whose name is not being released at this time.

Meanwhile, the identity of the suspect who fled after stabbing the victim is not known at this time.

Investigators are looking for any information that may be known on the identity of the suspect. The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that deputies were called to the area of Webster Rd and Rt. 380 in the Town of Portland early Sunday morning for a report of a stabbing.

Upon investigation it was determined that 30 year-old Loren Johnson had gotten into a altercation with another individual and during the altercation had allegedly stabbed the individual with a knife. Johnson then fled the scene prior to deputies arrival.

Johnson was located a short time later and taken into custody without incident. While being placed into custody Johnson was found to be in possession of a small quantity of marijuana. He was charged with Assault 2nd and unlawful possession of marijuana. He was arraigned in the Town of Portland court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail.

City police say 56 year-old Robert Gifford is accused of stabbing the victim early Monday morning on the city’s south side. According to police, officers were called to an undisclosed residence on the south side in response to a report of a stabbing. On arrival officers found the victim standing in the kitchen with a stab wound to his chest. They also found Gifford in the living room of the residence.

Gifford was arrested and charged with 1st degree assault. The victim was taken to WCA hospital for treatment.

Jamestown police say 29 year-old Hector Guevara allegedly broke into an apartment on E. Fourth St. just after 8:30 Tuesday morning an assaulted both the male resident of the home and his female guest. It was later learned that Guevara had an order of protection against the female.

Officers say when they were called to the scene, the male victim was found in front of the residence with stab wounds and lacerations to his arm and face. The female victim was later located at her residence. Both victim were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Guevara later found at his Winsor St. apartment and arrested on several charges, including first-degree assault and two counts of first-degree burglary. He was then sent to the city jail to await arraignment.

State Police in Fredonia report that 31-year-old Kristi Jones allegedly stabbed her husband in the chest area after an argument escalated inside their home at the Lakeside Trailer Park on Route 5 at about 6:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The husband was transported to Brooks Memorial Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Jones faces several charges – including second-degree assault. She was arraigned and sent to the county jail on $30,000 cash bail.

City police say the 17 year old female victim was sliced across the face and ear by a 16 year old female suspect from Dunkirk. Because of the age of the suspect, her name is not being released. The incident took place about 6:30 p.m. at 401 W. Fourth St.

According to an investigation, the incident was related to an earlier altercation involving several women from both Jamestown and Dunkirk.

The victim was sent to WCA for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The suspect had reportedly fled the scene, but was located by Fredonia police a short time later. She was then transported back to Jamestown and charged with 2nd degree assault (felony) and 4th degree criminal possession of a weapon (misdemeanor).  Police say other charges may also be pending.
