New York State Police say 31-year-old Mark Sarama is in jail on $100,000 cash bail for charges including kidnapping and robbery.

Troopers received a 911 call Wednesday afternoon for an “unknown and unwanted armed man at a residence in the village of Fillmore.

Police say Samara had taken a victim from the home at gunpoint to get money at an ATM. Earlier in the day he had also gone to another residence and allegedly struck a 90-year-old man with a handgun, knocking him unconscious. He’s also accused of firing the weapon and stealing a flat-screen TV and cash.

Sarama stole the pistol from a third location where he was staying.

As he was being taken into custody, Sarama reportedly overdosed on narcotics and was sent to the hospital for treatment.

Sarama was charged with Kidnapping 2nd (B Felony), Burglary 1st degree (B Felony) 2 counts, Robbery 1st degree (B Felony) 2 counts, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree (C Felony), Grand Larceny 4th degree: Firearm (E Felony) and Resisting Arrest (A Misdemeanor). He was arraigned in the town of Hume Court and remanded to the Allegany County Jail in lieu of $100,000 cash or $200,000 Insurance Company Bond or $300,000 Partially Secured Appearance Bond.  The felony hearing is scheduled later this month.

MAYVILLE – A Jamestown area man was taken into custody this week after allegedly threatening another man at gunpoint and leaving him “completely nude and in the dark” in a rural area of Warren County, PA.

The Post-Journal says 23-year-old Thomas Kimbrough, Jr. of West Ellicott was arrested by Pennsylvania State Police for the incident, which occurred on April 22 on Mud Run Rd., near Lander in Warren County.

Kimbrough is accused of inviting a friend to take ride with him and smoke marijuana on Tuesday night. But when they got to a rural area of Warren County, Kimbrough allegedly told the victim to get out of the vehicle and made him strip naked at gun point. He’s also accused of firing a single round near the victim, and then allegedly struck the victim in the face with the gun before driving off with all of his belongings.

The victim was able to find help from a family that was fishing in the area and called 911. An investigation led to Kimbrough’s arrest on several related charges. He was taken into custody and booked into the Chautauqua County Jail.

MAYVILLE – The Jamestown man accused of robbing a bank in Falconer and Kwik Fill in the city this past summer has pleaded guilty to third-degree robbery.

Albert Chapman made the plea in Chautauqua County Court Thursday. He still faces a first-degree robbery charge that will be discussed by prosecutors in February.

Yesterday’s guilty plea is attached to a minimum of three and a half years and a maximum of seven years in prison.

Chapman was accused of robbing the Community Bank in Falconer on June 21. Later that night he held a clerk at Kwik Fill on Forest Avenue at knife-point.

He was captured by police soon after that incident took place.

Jamestown police say 48 year-old Reinaldo Lugo was charged with third-degree robbery and grand larceny.

Lugo was arrested following a two-day search after he held up the 7 Eleven store at the corner of Buffalo and E. Second Streets just after 1:30 p.m. Friday.

He reportedly used a stolen vehicle as part of the alleged robbery.

Lugo left the convenience store with a “quantity of cash” and the vehicle was found abandoned later in the day in an area near Allen Park.

Police say investigators were able to use video surveillance from outside the store to identify Lugo.

Lugo was being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court on the charges.

FALCONER – The Town of Ellicott Police Department is asking for assistance identifying the suspect involved in the robbery of the CVS Pharmacy in Falconer.

Police say at around 8:25 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 17, a black male entered CVS and walked to the pharmacy, jumped the counter, and then took a quantity of medication before eventually running out of the store.

The suspect was approximately 5’10”  with a slim build and his hair was in corn rows. He was wearing a camouflage baseball hat, brown hooded sweatshirt, and gray sweat pants.

JAMESTOWN – A Jamestown man accused of robbing a bank and gas station last week was ordered held pending grand jury action.

The Jamestown Post-Journal says 34-year-old Albert Chapman was sent back to Chautauqua County Jail without bail following a preliminary hearing in city court. The Jamestown man is facing charges of first- and third-degree robbery after he allegedly walked into Community Bank NA in Falconer last Thursday and demanded money.

He was later arrested after attempting to rob the Kwik Fill gas station on Forest Avenue at knife-point.

Police are still investigating the bank robbery and are asking the public for information regarding the driver of an SUV that was reportedly used to transport Chapman to and from the bank in Falconer.

FALCONER – The suspect connected to a bank robbery that took place late Thursday morning in Falconer is now in custody, but police are continuing to ask the public for help in tracking down another person possibly connected to the crime.

Jamestown Police say 34 year-old Albert Chapman of Jamestown was arrested after he allegedly attempted to hold up the Forest Ave. Kwik Fill gas station late Thursday night.

Chapman entered the Kwik Fill around 11:35 p.m. Thursday and reportedly held a clerk at knife-point, demanding cash from the register. He fled the store without money and was located by police.

An investigation by Ellicott and Jamestown police linked Chapman to the Community Bank NA robbery from earlier in the day.

Police are still looking for the driver of a dark-colored sport utility vehicle involved in the robbery.

Chapman was sent to the Chautauqua County Jail without bail and is scheduled to appear back in court Wednesday at 10 a.m. for a preliminary hearing.

According to the Jamestown Post-Journal, Alberto Acevedo was facing a charge of first-degree robbery. If convicted, he could have been sentenced to up to 25 years in prison.

City police charged Acevedo after he reportedly robbed a Rainbow Cab driver at knife-point during the early morning of April 20, 2017.

His trial began April 3 and ended Wednesday with the jury acquittal.

According to the DA’s office, the jury didn’t believe the cab driver beyond a reasonable doubt.

JAMESTOWN – A city woman is awaiting arraignment Friday morning following an investigation into an alleged armed robbery that reportedly took place early Thursday night in Jamestown.

City police say the incident took place at 6:05 p.m. when officers responded to the area of 625 Prendergast Ave. on a report of an armed robbery. Officers were advised that a male victim had been robbed of cash at gun point and that the suspect then fled into the lower apartment at 625 Prendergast.

Officers were advised that the suspect then fled out the rear of the apartment and she was spotted fleeing down E. 8th Street towards N. Main Street.  Officers were able to pursue the suspect and eventually captured her in the area of N. Main St at E. 7th St.

The suspect was taken into custody and identified as 21-year-old Jillian Matthews.

Investigators also obtained a search warrant for the apartment at 625 Prendergast and reportedly found the weapon that was used in the robbery in the apartment. Police say the weapon was actually a replica revolver.

Matthews was taken to the city jail and was charged with Robbery 2nd Degree and Cr. Possession of a weapon 3rd Degree.

City police say officers were called to the west side of the city at about 8 p.m. Monday for a report of a truck tat was recently stolen and involved in leaving the scene of a property damage accident.

During the investigation officers were able to locate the truck and the person who driving it, who was at first gave officers a wrong name, but was later identified as 39 year-old Nicko Polk of Sacramento.

Polk was wanted in California for parole violation connected to a charge of 2nd degree robbery. He was arrested and charged for criminal possession of stolen property, false impersonation, and being a fugitive from justice.
