CASSADAGA – A Cassadaga man is in the County Jail after police say he fired several rounds from a gun inside a home, nearly striking several people.

Sheriff Deputies arrested 43-year-old Elliott Dones after an investigation found that Dones allegedly “engaged in a confrontation with several other individuals at a residence on Tarbox Road and then fired several rounds from a long gun in close proximity to others inside the home.

Dones fled the scene prior to deputies arrival and an arrest warrant for reckless endangerment 1st, criminal possession of a weapon 2nd, and menacing 2nd was issued out of the Town of Arkwright Court.  He was taken into custody a short time later, arraigned, and then sent to the county jail on $250,000 cash bail.

Police charged 30 year-old Kellie Gentz of Tidioute with a felony count of acquiring controlled substances by misrepresentation as well as misdemeanor charges including five counts of possession of a controlled substance and single counts of neglect of care for a dependent person, simple assault, theft by unlawful taking and recklessly endangering another person.

The charges came after an investigation at the Kinzua Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center by the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s office and the Warren County District Attorney.

Gentz was sent to jail on $50,000 bail, with a preliminary hearing date for September 12.

JAMESTOWN – A 19-year-old Jamestown man has been charged for allegedly holding a woman at gunpoint during a pursuit last Friday night.

According to Jamestown Police, Jordan Alexander has been charged with unlawful imprisonment, reckless endangerment and menacing after police attempted to stop the car he was a passenger in around 9:30 p.m. on Prather Avenue in Jamestown.

The female driver of the car did not stop and was reportedly being held at gunpoint during the ensuing pursuit. The chase took place throughout the greater Jamestown area, including into the village of Falconer as well as onto Interstate 86.

Alexander was eventually taken into custody without any injuries being reported.  It was found he was also reportedly wanted for multiple armed robberies in Buffalo.

According to Ellicott Police, officers were sent to a report of a female who had been struck by a car around 4:30 p.m. Sunday in the area of South Work and East Main Streets in Falconer. When officers arrived they found that 38 year-old Shawn Arnold of Warren had allegedly been involved in a domestic dispute with a 38-year-old female. During the argument, the female was attempting to get into Arnold’s vehicle, when Arnold then backed up his vehicle, dragging the female a short distance. She then fell to the ground and Arnold then ran over her legs with his vehicle.

The victim was treated at the scene by Falconer Fire for several serious injuries to her legs, she was then flown by Star Flight to Hamot Hospital in Erie for treatment.

Arnold left the scene and was later located and arrested for Felony Reckless Endangerment (1st degree) and Felony Aggravated Criminal Contempt. The victim had a valid order of protection against Arnold.

Town of Ellicott Police were assisted at the scene by the New York State Police and the Chautauqua County Sheriffs office. Arnold was arraigned with the Town of Ellicott Court and was remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail with out Bail.

JAMESTOWN – A Jamestown man faces kidnapping and weapons charges following his arrest by city police.

Jamestown Police say on or about Saturday, March 12, a male victim reported that he was held against his will for a period of time at 11 Norwood Ave.

During his confinement, the victim claimed he was allegedly mentally and verbally abused by 39 year-old Mark Diers, Jr., who reportedly lived at the address. Diers is also accused of using a firearm during the incident and threatening to use it against the victim.

During the investigation a search warrant was executed at 11 Norwood Ave., at which time police reportedly found illegal weapons, drug paraphernalia, and unsanitary/deplorable living conditions. Also found within the residence was several animals, some of which were illegal to possess.

Subsequent to the search the residence was condemned by the Jamestown Department of Development and the illegal animals were seized by NYS Environmental Conservation.

Diers was charged with: Kidnapping 2nd, Menacing 2nd, Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia 2nd, Reckless Endangerment 1st, Criminal Use of a Firearm 1st, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd (2cts),Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd and Endangering the Welfare of a Child (2cts).

The subject was taken into custody without incident and brought to the city jail pending arraignment. The investigation is continuing with further charges possible.

A report from the Jamestown Police Department says the incident took place Monday morning just before 8:30 a.m. when officers spotted 18 year-old Robert Blakey Jr. walking in the area of 350 E. Second St. Police say Blakey was wanted on a charge of 3rd degree Assault and 2nd degree Reckless Endangerment, due to an incident that took place over the weekend.

When officers approached Blakey he allegedly ran away from officers, refusing to stop and proceeding to run toward Jamestown High School. Officers were able to catch Blakey on the terrace near the pick up/drop off area of the school grounds. He allegedly continued to refuse officers’ commands during the arrest, and at one point he reportedly pushed back into an officer  and abruptly moved his head backwards, striking the officer in the face and nose area.

Blakey was eventually taken into custody and charged with 2nd degree Assault (felony), Resisting Arrest, 2nd degree Obstructing Governmental Administration, 3rd degree Assault, and 2nd degree Reckless Endangerment. He is being held in the city jail pending arraignment.

The officer who was struck in the face had to have medical treatment for a broken nose resulting from the incident.
