Deputies say 27-year-old Jerome Rogerson of the town of Chautauqua was jailed Wednesday following the pursuit. The pursuit started after the Jamestown Police Department reported an SUV had recently been stolen from a Washington Street car dealership. The vehicle in question was spotted in Dunkirk by State police.

Instead of pulling over, Rogerson allegedly “attempted to evade police” by traveling west in the eastbound lane of the interstate.

After leaving the interstate, the vehicle went down an embankment and got stuck. Rogerson was then taken into custody. He faces multiple charges.

Jamestown police say officers took 27-year-old Samuel Gagliano into custody after initially attempting to stop him around 7 p.m. for driving recklessly in the area of South Main and Harrison streets. Gagliano reportedly refused to stop and was driving recklessly, eventually hitting another traveling vehicle in the area of Fairmount Avenue and Whitley Avenue. He then allegedly intentionally rammed into a Jamestown Police vehicle, causing heavy damage.

Gagliano then reportedly fled the vehicle and ran into a nearby residence. He was eventually taken into custody and later transported to Jamestown City Jail on numerous charges.

The incident occurred around 5 p.m. Saturday when members of the Jamestown Police Department were alerted to two suspicious men in a maroon pickup trick in the area of Palmer Street and Highland Avenue.

Police say the driver, identified as 24-year-old Cody Dickerson of Jamestown, took off at a high rate of speed after officers tried to stop the vehicle.

A pursuit then took place that resulted in two crashes with other bystander vehicles, before finally ending on Falconer-Frewsburg Road after the truck stopped functioning due to heavy damage.

Both Dickerson and a passenger – identified as 43-year-old Steven Blankenship, then fled into a wooded area but were eventually taken into custody.

Dickerson was charged with 26 vehicle and traffic violations, along with other charges for disobeying and fleeing from police.
Blankenship was charged with two counts of fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Jamestown Police were assisted by the New York State police, along with officers from the Town of Ellicott, Lakewood-Busti, and the Sheriff’s Office.

JAMESTOWN – Jamestown Police arrested two Pennsylvania men early Monday morning after they were involved a high speed chase which started in the city and ended in a rural area outside of Frewsburg near the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus County line.

City police say officers pulled over a 2016 Jeep at 1:30 a.m. Monday near the intersection of E. Second and Main Streets for a minor traffic violation involving an improper turn. Police say the driver initially stopped and a passenger in the vehicle allegedly exited. Afterward, the driver pulled away exit the vehicle. The operator then drove off, leading police on a 20-mile vehicle pursuit that traveled south out of the city to Rt. 60 then to Rt 62 and then eventually through Frewsburg and on to Ivory Road.

Police finally brought the driver into custody after he got stuck while attempting to pull off on a logging road near the Cattaraugus County line.

The driver was identified as 27-year-old Kyle South of Bradford, PA. Following his arrest, police found a loaded .38 cal revolver on the front seat of the car that was found to be stolen from McKean County, Pennsylvania.

South was wanted as a Fugitive from Justice in McKean County for Burglary and is facing multiple vehicle and traffic charges, along with 2nd degree criminal possession of a Weapon and being a fugitive from
Justice.

The passenger was identified as 33-year-old Brett Kinney. He found to be in possession of brass knuckles and is being charged with 3rd degree criminal possession of a weapon and possession of marijuana.

Both are currently awaiting arraignment. Jamestown Police were assisted by the Chautauqua County Sheriffs Department and the New York State Police.

CASSADAGA – A Cassadaga man faces charges after leading police on a high-speed motorcycle chase Friday night.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office says 28-year-old Anthony Digangi was spotted making a traffic violation while riding his motorcycle in the town of Stockton just after after 10:15 p.m. Friday.

Police say Digangi didn’t stop for sheriff’s deputies and instead fled the area, resulting in a vehicle pursuit. He was located a short time later in the town of Gerry.

Digangi was charged with obstruction of governmental administration, unlawful fleeing of a police officer, reckless driving, speeding, aggravated unlicensed operation, operating without insurance, and riding an unregistered motorcycle – among other charges.

Digangi was arraigned in the Town of Charlotte for the Towns of Charlotte, Stockton, and Gerry. Digangi was remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail on $10,000 / $20,000 for each Township. Digangi will appear in court at a later date to answer to his charges.

SHERMAN – A Jamestown man has been arrested for allegedly stealing a vehicle and leading police on a high speed pursuit on I-86 with speeds reaching 130 mile per hour.

New York State Police say 22-year-old Collin Slack of Jamestown faces multiple charges, including third-degree criminal possession of stolen property, second-degree fleeing an officer in a motor vehicle, first-degree reckless endangerment and resisting arrest, among other charges.

The incident occurred on Tuesday after police tried to stop a sedan for speeding on Interstate 86. Slack was behind the wheel and is accused of not pulling over and instead pulling away, traveling west on the Interstate with speeds well exceeding 100 mph.

The pursuit ended only after the vehicle’s tires were punctured by “Stop Sticks” near the Sherman exit. Once the vehicle was disabled, Slack reportedly fled into the woods but was taken into custody a short time later.

In addition to his charges involved with the police chase, Slack is also facing a charge of third-degree burglary with the Lakewood-Busti Police Department for a burglary that took place Monday when Slack allegedly stole a vehicle from a local dealership.

Slack was arraigned in the town of Busti Court and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail without bail.

JAMESTOWN – A 19-year-old Jamestown man has been charged for allegedly holding a woman at gunpoint during a pursuit last Friday night.

According to Jamestown Police, Jordan Alexander has been charged with unlawful imprisonment, reckless endangerment and menacing after police attempted to stop the car he was a passenger in around 9:30 p.m. on Prather Avenue in Jamestown.

The female driver of the car did not stop and was reportedly being held at gunpoint during the ensuing pursuit. The chase took place throughout the greater Jamestown area, including into the village of Falconer as well as onto Interstate 86.

Alexander was eventually taken into custody without any injuries being reported.  It was found he was also reportedly wanted for multiple armed robberies in Buffalo.

According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers noticed a white motorcycle traveling east on the Arterial with no lights and making an illegal turn at about 1:40 a.m. Tuesday. Officers attempted to pull the motorcyclist over, but he instead accelerated in an effort to flee from police. Police say the motorcyclist eventually crashed at the corner of Forest and Barrett Avenues and then fled on foot. He was eventually caught by police and after a brief struggle was brought into custody.

City police identified the motorcyclist as 32 year-old Michael Davis. While in custody, police reportedly found a quantity of methamphetamine and marijuana on his possession.

Davis was charged with 3rd degree unlawfully fleeing  a police officer in a motor vehicle, resisting arrest, obstructing government administration, unlawful possession of marijuana, criminal possession of a controlled substance, and 2nd degree aggravated unauthorized operation. He was sent to the city jail to await arraignment.

Jamestown Police say 35 year-old Mathew Haskins was allegedly speeding down E. 2nd St. in the city shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday.

When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, Haskins allegedly failed to stop and instead continued at a high rate of speed down Crescent St. and eventually crashing near a storage vehicle on River Street. He then allegedly left the vehicle and hid from officers but was eventually located.

Haskins was then arrested on several related charges and sent to the city jail to await arraignment.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office says 31 year-old Austin Slater led police on a pursuit through the towns of Ellicott, Ellington, Gerry and Poland.

The say the incident began just before 2 p.m. Friday when deputies were notified of a wanted person operating a vehicle on North Main St. Ext. in the town of Ellicott. When officers located the vehicle and attempted to pull it over, the driver – later identified as Slater, led them on a vehicle pursuit.

Sheriff’s deputies were eventually able to use spike strips on Gerry-Levant Rd in the Town of Ellicott to render the vehicle disabled. At that point it went into a field and Slater then allegedly ran into a wooded area. After a large scale search Slater was found hiding in dense brush.

Slater was taken into custody on the outstanding warrants and additionally arrested on several other charges, including Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle 3rd, Obstructing Government Administration 2nd, Reckless Driving, Failure to Comply with a Lawful Order, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 2nd, Operating without an interlock device, and speeding.
