Charlie Chaplin’s “The Kid” will be shown Saturday, June 27 at the Reg Lenna Center for the Arts, with live music accompanying the presentation, performed by the Peacherine Ragtime Society Orchestra.

JAMESTOWN – Visitors to the Reg Lenna Center for the Arts will be able to step back in time when they come to the theater on Saturday night.

The Reg will be presenting a special screening of Charlie Chaplin’s The Kid on Saturday at 8 p.m. and the Fenton History Center, Busti Historical Society, the Jamestown Trolly Car 93 Restoration Project, and Chautauqua County Historical Society will all be on hand as part of the event.

The movie will be underscored live by Peacherine Ragtime Society Orchestra (PRSO) – a nationally touring ragtime orchestra from Maryland.

PRSO is quickly becoming one of the leading ragtime ensembles in the United States. Formed by Andrew Greene at the University of Maryland in early 2010, the orchestra plays ragtime, theater, and dance music using Greene’s collection of over 2,500 original orchestral arrangements from the ‘Ragtime’ Era.

Doors will open at 7 p.m. to the general public. Within the lobby of the theater, each historical organization will have their own display and include artifacts from the 1920s when The Kid first premiered.

Tickets to the event start at just $10. More information may be found at reglenna.com or by calling 716.484.7070.
