Reservoir Dogs is playing at the Spire Theater’s Studio Metro on May 1, 2, 8, and 9 and WRFA’s Jason Sample talks with two cast members – Lars Benson and Richie Hayes.
Tickets are on sale for $10 at studiometro.org and Brazil in downtown Jamestown. They can also be bought for $12 at the door on the day of the show.
Highlighting the weekend is an appearance by Irish music group, Caladh Nua, who will perform at Reg Lenna Center for The Arts on Sunday at 7 p.m. Coming from southern Ireland, the quintet performs traditional Irish music with a contemporary flair.
The Southern Tier Xpress hockey team will host a playoff hockey game on Saturday. The team clinched a spot in the playoffs after wrapping up their season 26-20-1 in the NA3HL’s East Division. The Southern Tier Xpress is playing the top-seeded Metro Jets in a best two-out-of-three series. Game 1 took place Thursday in Waterford Michigan with the Xpress losing 4 to 3. JAMESTOWN – Insomniac Halloween Film Festival shorts will screen for the public Wednesday October 30 at 7pm at Reg Lenna Center For The Arts in Jamestown. Admission is free.
Six original shorts will be screened, all incorporating themes and characters relating to Halloween. The shorts were all produced in less than two weeks by local filmmakers – Gary Peters Jr., Eric Basile, Barry Meyer, Ian Eastman, Nigel Eastman, Lars Benson, David Kum and Joe Tanksley – the latter four, all students in the area.
Due to the graphic nature of some of the films it is recommended that children under the age of 13 should not attend or be accompanied by an adult.
The Insomniac Competitive Film Festival will return in the summer of 2014 and open to filmmakers throughout the area.
Reg Lenna Center For The Arts is located at 116 East Third Street in Jamestown.
