SHERMAN – Three Erie residents are in the Chautauqua County jail after they were involved in an alleged home invasion that took place early Sunday morning in Sherman.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were sent to 134 Cornish Street in Sherman around 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 21 for a reported home invasion.

It is alleged that 32 year-old Nicholas Tobin, 37 year-old June Hoovler and 35 year-old Jamie Markham – all of Erie – entered a home at the address and remained unlawfully inside the home. Deputies say there was a female, a male, and a child in the home at the time of the incident.

While inside, the female resident was allegedly attacked by Tobin and Hoovler while Markham stood by the front door to prevent anybody from leaving or entering the residence. The suspects reportedly allowed the male in the residence to take the child into another room while the incident occurred, at which time the male called 911. The suspects then allegedly stole the female victim’s cell phone and left the residence before deputies arrived.

All three were identified and warrants were issued for the suspects. They were picked up without incident on Tuesday. All three were arraigned on related charges – including burglary, assault, unlawful imprisonment and child endangerment – and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail.
