The event was originally scheduled for January 22 but was postponed due to the closure of JCC’s Jamestown Campus because of inclement weather.

The program, free and open to the public, is sponsored by JCC’s Faculty Student Association and college program committee as well as the Katharine Jackson Carnahan Endowment for the Humanities.

As a result, the “Reflections on Resistance” program by Filmmaker Jen Marlowe and accompanying community dialogue originally scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday night at JCC’s Jamestown Campus are being rescheduled for 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 6. In addition, the presentation originally scheduled for today entitled”Art As Activism,” has also been cancelled.

The documentary “Rebuilding Hope” will still be shown on Thursday in the student union as originally scheduled.

On Tuesday, January 22, Marlowe will present “Reflections on Resistance” at 7 p.m. in JCC’s Scharmann Theatre. She will share examples of the resilience and courage of individuals who have suffered oppression and injustice in the Sudan, Israel, Palestine, and the U.S. At the conclusion of her program, Ms. Marlowe will join a dialogue on social activism with participants from JCC and the Jamestown community.

The program, along with two others, is free and open to the public, are sponsored by JCC’s Faculty Student Association and college program committee as well as the Katharine Jackson Carnahan Endowment for the Humanities.
