BUFFALO – U.S. Attorney William Hochul Jr. announced Tuesday that a federal grand jury has returned a 14 count indictment against three men – including one from Jamestown – for conspiracy to distribute controlled substances.
Hochul said that 32 year-old Barrett Johnson of Jamestown – along with 47 year old Richard Clarke, a Canadian citizen residing in Buffalo and 31 year-old Joshua Castro of Buffalo face charges that carry a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a fine of $1,000,000. In addition, Castro is charged with possession with intent to distribute controlled substances which is also punishable by 20 years in prison.
According to the media release from Hochul’s office, the investigation began in February of 2015 when Clarke was identified through surveillance as the supplier of MDA and MDMA, also known as ecstasy or molly, to Johnson over a 10-month period. According to the report, much of the trafficking took place in the Buffalo area, where Johnson ran a barbershop business.

BUFFALO – A Jamestown man faces federal charges for allegedly selling the illegal drug ecstasy.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Buffalo, 32 year-old Barrett Johnson of Jamestown was one of two people charged Friday in U.S. District Court.
The other person was 47 year-old Richard Clarke, a Canadian citizen living in Buffalo. An investigation beginning in March 2015 determined that Clarke had allegedly supplied Johnson with ecstasy and molly over a 10-month period.
Both men were charged with conspiracy to distribute controlled substances. The charge carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine.

JAMESTOWN – Jamestown police have charged two people following a drug raid Friday morning on the east side of town.
Officers say 37-year-old Michael Gibson of Buffalo and 34-year-old Jeananne Rysdyke of Jamestown were charged after investigators allegedly found heroin, crack cocaine, and ecstasy at 23 Weeks St. In addition, police also recovered drug paraphernalia and a stun gun inside.
Both Gibson and Rysdyke were charged with three counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of drug paraphernalia. In addition, Gibson was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
The raid was conducted by investigators from the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force and the New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team.

JAMESTOWN – Jamestown police are continuing their fight against drug trafficking in the city with the recent arrest of three men, two of them being parolees.
Last Wednesday the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force searched a home at 21 Sturges St. and allegedly found a quantity of crack cocaine, cash and drug paraphernalia inside. Arrested was 35 year-old Anthony Dunmore, a parolee from Rochester.
On Friday, police raided a home at 19 Crossman St. and allegedly found heroin, ecstasy and cash inside the home. Arrested was 28 year-old Miles Jordan, a parolee from Cleveland.
And investigators raided a home at 841 E. Second St. on Friday and allegedly found a quantity of cocaine. Arrested was 33 year-old Lawrence McGrigg of Jamestown.
All three men were committed to the Chautauqua County Jail.
