JAMESTOWN – Jamestown police have arrested two individuals following an investigation to the sales and trafficking of drugs in the city.

According to police, the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force and the New York State Police CNET team executed a search warrant Friday morning at 314-316 W. 4th Street. Entry was gained into the apartment with the assistance of the Jamestown Police Departments S.W.A.T. team.

Once inside the residence, investigators located 27 year-old Steven Edmund and 20 year-old Lorilynn Moriarty, both of Jamestown. Investigators also located a quantity of crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia. Both Edmund and Moriarty are being charged with Cr. Possession of a controlled substance 3rd degree and Cr. Using Drug Paraphernalia.

The two are being held in the city jail and are awaiting arraignment.

The investigation is continuing and additional charges are expected. Anyone with information on the sales and trafficking of narcotics in the Jamestown area is asked to contact the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Anonymous Tip Line at 483-Tips (8477). All calls will be kept strictly confidential.

JAMESTOWN – Two city residents have been arrested for allegedly trafficking and selling heroin in the area.

Local law enforcement raided a home 150 Barrows St. Monday morning after an investigation into drug activity at the location. The search of the home, police say a large quantity of heroin and heroin that was packaged for sale was recovered.

Police charged 50-year-old Teresa Lopez and 49-year-old Eduardo Rodriguez with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and because a small child was also living in the location, the two were both charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

JAMESTOWN – The Jamestown Police Department is reporting that four individuals were arrested Tuesday following two separate drug investigations in the city.

Police say during a raid at 539 Crescent St., three bundles of heroin, a quantity of powder cocaine, prescription pills, and large amount of cash were recovered. Arrested and taken into custody were:

  • Iris Blanco-Rivera, 30 – charged with 3rd degree criminal possession and criminal using drug paraphernalia;
  • Carlos Juan Gonzalez Diaz, 30 – charged with 7th degree criminal possession of a controlled substance;
  • and Rolando Garcia, 50 – charged with obstruction for allegedly struggling with police during the raid.

A second raid was also conducted at 842 Lafayette St., where 2 bundles of heroin and a quantity of cash were recovered.

Arrested at the scene was 35 year-old Alexander Mercado, who was charged with 3rd degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

All four were taken into custody and are awaiting arraignment in the city jail. Some media outlets are also reporting that police were able to recover heroin that was in pink packaging – the same type of packaging as the heroin that reportedly led to three overdoses last week, one of which being fatal.

Police say the arrests were conducted by the Jamestown Metro Task Force, which includes the Jamestown, Ellicott and the NY State Police.

JAMESTOWN – City police have arrested two city residents and one person from Rochester following an investigation into the trafficking of crack cocaine in the city.

The Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force, with the help of the JPD SWAT Team, first raided a home at 108 West Eighth Street where they picked up 22 year-old Anthony Darling and 19 year-old Devonah Ferguson and seized a quantity of crack and cash.

About 10 minutes later, police carried out a second raid at 50 Bowen Street where they arrested 71 year-old Joseph Robinson of Rochester.

All three suspects have been charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

JAMESTOWN – A Falconer man is in police custody after Jamestown police found 13 pounds of marijuana inside a city apartment Thursday afternoon.

Jamestown Police say 29 year-old Steven Greenland was arrested Thursday afternoon following a short investigation in which police learned a large quantity of marijuana had reportedly been shipped to an apartment at 8 C Shirley Lane in the city. After receiving a warrant to enter the home, police found 13 pounds of packaged marijuana and nearly a pound of a highly concentrated form of marijuana known as “Shatter.” Police say the total street value of the drugs is $43,000. An additional $3,000 cash was found at the scene.

Officers say during the raid Greenland allegedly attempted to flee the apartment through a second story window, but was caught and taken into custody. He was charged with felony first-degree criminal possession of marijuana and felony fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

JAMESTOWN – Two Jamestown residents were arrested Friday morning following a drug investigation by local authorities.

Jamestown city police say 30 year-old Mark Goldsmith and 29 year-old Peggy Sue Reese were each charged with criminal possession of marijuana. In addition, Goldsmith was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and tampering with physical evidence.

The arrest stem from an investigation by the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force, the New York State Police CNET and the Jamestown Police SWAT team – who executed a search warrant at 128 Fairview Ave. apt. no. 4 shortly before 7 a.m. Friday morning.

As police were making entry into the apartment, officers who were stationed outside say Goldsmith was allegedly throwing money and marijuana out of a third story window. Both Goldsmith and Reese were taken into custody. Police were able to recover more than 2.5 pounds of marijuana and $4,300 in cash.

Police say the investigation was partially the result of numerous complaints from residents regarding frequent traffic at that location.

JAMESTOWN – Jamestown Police arrested two city men Wednesday following the investigation into the making and selling of methamphetamine in the Jamestown area.

City police say 38 year-old Richard Dean and 30 year-old Beau Jones were arrested early Wednesday night following two separate drug raids on Lafayette St. and Forest Ave.

According to police, investigators conducted a raid at 607 Lafayette St. just before 6 p.m. and found Jones inside the residence. Also inside the home was more than 4 ounces of methamphetamine along with several items used to make the illegal drug.

Police say a second team conducted a raid at 238 Forest Ave. just after 6 p.m. and located Dean inside the home. A quantity of methamphetamine and several items used to make the drug were also found inside the residence.

The investigation was conducted by members of the Jamestown Police Department, Town of Ellicott and New York State Police.

Both men face multiple drug related charges and were sent to the city jail to await arraignment.

City police are also asking members of the public to report any drug activity. That can be done by calling the police department’s anonymous tip line at 483-Tips (8477).

JAMESTOWN – An investigation into the sale of crack cocaine in Jamestown has resulted in the arrest of six people.

Jamestown police say drug raids were conducted Thursday afternoon at two locations in the city – one at 108 Crescent St. and the other at 165 Barrett Ave. The raids were the culmination of an investigation into the alleged sale and trafficking of crack cocaine into the Jamestown area.

Investigators say they found crack cocaine packaged for sale at both locations, along with a loaded rifle at the Crescent St. location.

Arrested at the Crescent St. location were 45 year-old Lawrence Gary and 24 year-old Laura Dubois – both of Jamestown – and 32 year-old Ollie Alford of Buffalo. During the Barrett Ave. investigation, police arrested 46 year-old Tory Knight of Jamestown, along with 31 year-old Ervin Mitchell and 18 year-old Rayquan Brooks – both of Buffalo.

All six were charged with Criminal possession of a controlled substance and are awaiting arraignment in the city jail. Both Gary and Alford – who are also convicted felons – were also charged with criminal possession of a weapon, in connection to the loaded rifle being found at the Crescent St. location.

The investigation was conducted by the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force – which is made up of members of the Jamestown and Ellicott police departments.

Anyone with information into the illegal sale of drugs in the area is asked to contact the JPD’s anonymous tip line at 483-TIPS (8477).
