Jamestown police were called to a home on Newland Ave. at midnight, Jan. 2, and learned that 39 year-old Nicholas Alianell had allegedly threatened another person with a knife while two children were present. In addition he allegedly damaged a door in the apartment. Police learned there was an order of protection against Alianell to stay away from the children.  He was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, along with criminal mischief, menacing, criminal contempt, and aggravated family offense.

Alianell was taken to the city jail and will be arraigned later in city court.

City policy say they were called to 38 Barrow St. just before 12:30 a.m. Friday to respond to a domestic incident. On arrival police learned that 41 year old James Houser tried to forcibly steal money from a female victim. Houser left the scene before police arrived, but were able to track him down with the help of K-9 Mitchell – who found Houser behind Connell’s Bar, at the intersection of Winsor and Allen Streets.

Houser was charged with 3rd degree attempted robbery, criminal mischief, and forcible touching. He was sent to the city jail to await arraignment later today.

A report from the Jamestown Police Department says 30 year-old Michael Reale was arrested and charged with 2nd degree Burglary, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and two counts of 4th degree Criminal Mischief. Reale is accused of breaking into a home at 3 N. Cowden Pl. just before 3 a.m. Sunday by punching into a glass window and unlocking the door. Once inside he allegedly began a physical fight with a female resident in front of her 4-year-old daughter. He also allegedly prevented the victim from dialing 911.

Real was located by police and sent to WCA Hospital for treatment of cuts to his wrist that were sustained during the alleged break in. He was then sent to the city jail to await arraignment.

Jamestown police say officers were called to the area of 20 W. 12th street at about 1:30 a.m. Thursday for a report of a domestic violence incident. An investigation revealed that 35 year-old Benjamin Fuller and his wife, 34 year-old Adriane Fuller, had been involved in an altercation with a resident at the address. Officers say the couple allegedly struck a female victim and prevented her from leaving, adding that the incident occurred in the presence of five children.

Benjamin Fuller was arrested on charges related to child endangerment, strangulation, unlawful imprisonment and criminal mischief. Adriane Fuller also faces child endangerment charges, along with a charge of 2nd degree harassment. The two are being held in the city jail awaiting arraignment.

According to a media release from Jamestown Police, officers were called to a residence at 136 Park St. on the city’s south side at about 8 p.m. Friday after receiving a report that a man had locked himself in a room with a small child and that he also allegedly had a shotgun in his possession.

Police arrived on the scene and made contact with the man, identified as 25 year-old Darin Buvoltz, and after several hours of negotiations he surrendered to police without incident. No injuries were reported in the incident and the child was returned to his mother.

Buvoltz was taken to the city jail on related charges to await arraignment in city court.

Jamestown police were assisted at the scene by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police.
