CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY – The Chautauqua County Visitors Bureau will once again host the Colors of Chautauqua promotion – which features a season of foliage, festivals and learning.
The fall event is promoted in the tradition of lifelong learning popularized by Chautauqua Institution more than 141 years ago.
Visitors as well as residents can register for entertaining classes and learn kitchen, gardening, and foraging techniques, take lessons in creating artwork and crafts, join guided walking tours, discover history through storytelling, and expand their knowledge of local foods, wine, and beer.
The promotion runs from Labor Day Weekend through Veteran’s Day.
For a complete listing of all classes, call 1-866-908-4569 or visit the Visitors Bureau website at www.tourchautauqua.com.
]]>More than 20 workshops are offered to suit a wide array of tastes and interests. Chautauqua In June was founded as an extension of the Chautauqua: The World’s Learning Center branding initiative. Promoted regionally in Buffalo, Erie, Cleveland, and Pittsburgh, the festival courses have seen anywhere from 35 percent to 58 percent of attendees from outside of Chautauqua County. In addition, the learning festival has spawned a subsequent Colors of Chautauqua event in autumn.
These festivals are just one way Chautauqua County has been working to improve its standing as a tourism destination, not just during the peak summer season, but all year round. If you are interested in taking one of the classes, sign up quickly. Some of them do sell out. Chautauqua In June this year runs from May 31 to June 16. You can learn more on the Chautauqua County Visitors Bureau web site at www.tourchautauqua.com or call the CCVB office at 716-357-4569.

The new Colors of Chautauqua fall learning festival is set to begin this weekend. The 17-day event was created to celebrate both the brilliant colors of the season as well as the culture of lifelong and leisure learning in southwestern New York State. It will run from October 5 to 21 at various communities and locations throughout Chautauqua County.
According to the Chautauqua County Visitors Bureau spokesperson Stephanie Burdo, many of the workshops offered explore the natural and cultural nuances of the region. Several workshops study the landscape through the perspective of canvas or lens. Other workshops deal with arts and crafts, while still others will focus on various outdoor activities.
Descriptions of all the workshops offered during the Colors of Chautauqua can be found on the Chautauqua County Visitors’ Bureau website calendar as well as in a downloadable version of the program guide. Both are available at http://www.tourchautauqua.com. Registration information is also available online or by calling 866-908-4569.
