According to a report, deputies were performing an area check of the Village of Sinclairville Park just before 8 p.m. Tuesday and observed a suspicious subject in a vehicle.

A further check revealed that 23-year-old Austin Schwab was allegedly in possession of two forms of a controlled substance. It was also later determined that Schwab had allegedly provided a child less than 17 years of age with a controlled substance.

Schwab was charged with 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a controlled substance in the 7th, Endangering the Welfare of a child and Criminally Possessing a Hypodermic Instrument and processed at the county jail.

JAMESTOWN – Four people in Jamestown were arrested Tuesday on charges related to possessing methamphetamine following two separate investigations by the Jamestown Metro Drug Task force.

Investigators from the Task Force arrested 32-year-old Kyle Kamholz around 1 p.m. Tuesday following the execution of a search warrant at 102 McKinley Ave.

Police say as part of an investigation, they received information the location was being used to traffic crystal meth. Police took Kahmolz into custody near the home and allegedly found him in possession of 4.8 grams of meth along with brass knuckles. A small quantity of meth was also reportedly found in the residence, along with packaging materials.

Kamholz was arrested on related charges and sent to the city jail for arraignment.

A separate investigation into the sale and trafficking of crystal meth in the city led to the arrest of three city residents. Police say Brandon Smith, Celeste Carr, and Samual Critzer – all 32 and all from Jamestown – were arrested at a home at 6 Terrace Pl. in the city.

That arrest came after investigators obtained information meth was reportedly being sold from that location and a search warrant was issued. Three children were also in the home. Inside the home police reportedly found 13 grams of crystal meth, packaging material, and drug paraphernalia.

All three face drug-related charges. In addition, Smith was charged with violating terms of federal probation and Carr was charged on three counts of child endangerment.

All three were sent to the city jail to await arraignment.

JAMESTOWN – A Jamestown man is awaiting arraignment an 11-hour-long standoff with city police Sunday.

Jamestown Police say the incident began early Sunday morning around 3 a.m. after receiving reports of a man chasing a woman with a knife at 22 Spring St. Ext.

After arriving on the scene police were able to secure the woman’s safety, but the man – later identified as 28-year-old Nicholas Brown — barricaded himself inside the home with a 9-year-old child and remained until just after 2 p.m.

Police were able to eventually bring Brown into custody without anyone being injured.

Brown was sent to UPMC Chautauqua hospital for an evaluation and then sent to the City Jail and for arraignment. He is being held on multiple warrants and several charges, including Menacing, Unlawful Imprisonment, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

JAMESTOWN – A local man is in police custody after he allegedly struck a 3-year-old child in the head, sending her to the hospital for emergency surgery.

Jamestown police say 28-year-old Joshua Berg was charged with second-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child following an investigation into the incident that they say took place Tuesday morning at a residence at 196 Clyde Ave. Police say EMS were called to the home at about 7:30 a.m. for a report of an unresponsive child.

The, child, identified only as a 3-year-old girl, suffered the injury after being struck in the head. Police did not say what led up to the incident, though another child was in the residence at the time. The child’s mother reportedly called police after learning of the assault.

According to Jamestown police, the girl was not related to Berg. She was taken to UPMC Chautauqua WCA and later Children’s Hospital in Buffalo and her condition is not known at this time.

FALCONER – A Falconer man has been charged after he was found to be allegedly making methamphetamine in a room at the Budget Inn motel in the village.

Police say 35 year-old Ryan Percey was arrested and taken into custody on Tuesday after executing a search warrant around 7:30 p.m. at the motel, located at 214 E. Main St. in Falconer.

According to the Post-Journal, police went to the motel after getting a complaint of “an awful smell of chemicals” coming from a room.

When they got inside the room, police found Percey and a 15-year-old male, along with a “quantity of methamphetamine” and drug paraphernalia, including several hypodermic needles.

Percey was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminal using drug paraphernalia, criminal using a hypodermic instrument, and endangering the welfare of a child.

He was arraigned in Ellicott Town Court and sent to Chautauqua County Jail.

The investigation was conducted by the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force, Ellicott Police Department, State Police, city SWAT Team, and FBI.

JAMESTOWN – Jamestown Police have charged two city residents with Child Endangerment after a child had to call 911 following an apparent drug overdose.

According to a report from the Jamestown Police Department, officers were call to an apartment at 601 Lafayette St. just before 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11 to respond to a report of two individuals being unresponsive.

Police say an 8 year-old child was also in the apartment and called 911 to report the incident.

Police and EMS arrived and located the two individuals as being unresponsive on the floor suffering from an apparent overdose. The two were later identified as 45-year-old Luis Garcia and 30-year-old Kelly Sherlock. Both EMS and police reportedly administered Narcan to Garcia and Sherlock, who subsequently regained consciousness.

The two were transported to UPMC WCA for further treatment and were later released.

Both individuals were then taken into custody by police and charged with Endangering the Welfare of a child. Following arraignment in Jamestown City Court the two were committed to the County Jail.

The child was not injured and was turned over to a family member.

According to a media release from the sheriff’s office, it received a complaint in March that Clymer Central School teacher Samantha Dascomb, 31, was having a relationship with a student. At the time, the male student was 16.

According to authorities, the relationship started in May of 2016 and continued in various locations until the complaint was issued.

At the conclusion of the investigation, Dascomb was charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

Officers were called to the area of 700 E 2nd St. just before 6:30 p.m. Sunday for a report of a child walking around unattended.

On arrival police found the child and after 30 minutes from the original call, the parents called police to say they couldn’t find their child.

A further investigation found that one of the parents had fallen asleep when the child left the house and walked unattended for almost an entire city block.

Police charged both 29 year-old Christina Scrivener and 25 year-old Andrew Morton with one count of child endangerment. The child was turned over to a family friend and child protected services was notified.

City police were called to 86 Falconer St. in the city Friday afternoon after a concerned citizen found a one-year-old child unattended near the road.

Officers began speaking to neighbors and finally located the child’s mother, identified as 20 year-old Katelin DiDomenico of Jamestown. Police say DiDomenico was in her home and had not noticed the child was gone for at least five minutes. She was charged with child endangerment and resisting arrest and send to the city to await arraignment.

The child was left with a family member.

JAMESTOWN -Local police have made yet another arrest in the effort to crack down on the illegal drug trade in the city.

The latest major bust took place on Friday shortly before 5:30 a.m., when the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force, New York State Police CNET and agents from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration executed a search warrant at a home on 10 Sampson St.

Inside, police reportedly seized 130 grams of cocaine and 25 grams of crack cocaine, along with cash, drug paraphernalia and a set of brass knuckles.

Arrested and charged were 38-year-old Odessin McBride and 33 year-old Ashley Mcbride. In addition to drug-related charges, they were also charged with endangering the welfare of a child since their 4-year-old child was living with them.

According to the Post-Journal, the Ring It Wireless cellphone business located at 406 W. Third St. and which was reportedly operated by Oddessin McBride was searched as part of the investigation.
