Upper Floors of HRC Building Remain Closed Until Further Notice

The upper floors of the Hall R. Clothier Building in Mayville remain closed until further notice.

The second, third, and fourth floors have been closed since November 2 following a water line break.

Chautauqua County Executive PJ Wendel said the cost of repairs for water damage could reach $500,000.

The closure only impacts the Public Health, Environmental Health and Social Services Divisions of the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). As a result, the Environmental Health Division will still not be accepting water samples for testing.

County operations located on the first and basement floors of the HRC Building, which include the Office for Aging Services, Public Defender’s Office, Board of Elections, and Department of Motor Vehicles, are not impacted by this closure and will remain open to the public.

Several Floors of Hall R. Clothier Building in Mayville to Remain Closed this Week

Several floors of the Hall R. Clothier Building in Mayville will remain closed all this week due to water damage caused by a water line break.

Chautauqua County Executive PJ Wendel said the second, third, and fourth floors of the building continue to be closed to the public through Friday, November 11 while repair work is done in office areas and on the elevators.

This closure only impacts the Public Health, Environmental Health and Social Services Divisions of the Department of Health and Human Services. As a result, the Environmental Health Division will still not be accepting water samples for testing.

Water Main Break Closes Some Floors of Hall Clothier Building in Mayville

A water main break has resulted in the closure of some floors of the Hall Clothier Building in Mayville until Saturday.

Chautauqua County Executive PJ Wendel said the second, third, and fourth floors of the building will be closed to the public. This impacts the Public Health, Environmental Health and Social Services Divisions of the Department of Health and Human Services.

County operations located on the first and basement floors of the HRC Building, which include the Office for Aging Services, Public Defender’s Office, Board of Elections, and Department of Motor Vehicles are not impacted by this closure and will remain open to the public.

Residents are also reminded that early voting is still taking place at the Board of Elections Office this week.

All county staff at the HRC building are to report to work on November 3 as normal unless otherwise told by their supervisor.

Travelers Have Until May 2023 to Get Real ID Required to Fly Domestically

Travelers have a year to obtain Real ID compliant identification in order to fly domestically.

County Clerk Larry Barmore said the deadline to obtain this kind of identification is May 3, 2023. That date has been pushed back several times due to the Pandemic.

Those wishing to obtain a Real ID or Enhanced driver’s license can do so at any Chautauqua County Department of Motor Vehicles offices, either by walk-in or by making an appointment on the DMV website.

Everything required to obtain one of these licenses is available on the NYS DMV website at www.dmv.ny.gov.

Mayville DMV Open For Snowmobiler Registration February 12

The Mayville Department of Motor Vehicles will be open this Saturday, February 12 for snowmobiler registration.

County Clerk Larry Barmore said hundreds of out of state snowmobilers are expected to be in Chautauqua County this weekend thanks to recent heavy snow and cold weather that has resulted in all snowmobile trails being open.

Snowmobilers needing vehicle registration can visit the Mayville DMV from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. tomorrow. Walk-in service will be available.

Mayville DMV to be Open Saturday, January 22 for Snowmobile Registration

The Department of Motor Vehicles office in Mayville will be open Saturday for snowmobile registration.

County Clerk Larry Barmore sent out a release saying that all snowmobile trails in Chautauqua County are open following a recent heavy snowfall.

Snowmobilers needing to complete registration may visit the Mayville DMV between 8 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Saturday, January 22.

All customers are asked to observe the State Health Department protocols for COVID-19.

County DMV Offices Return to Normal Operations June 28th

Chautauqua County Department of Motor Vehicles offices will return to normal operations starting Monday, June 28th. This will include a return to late hours one day per week at each office. The late hours at each DMV office are as follows:

Dunkirk office will be open on Mondays until 6pm.
Mayville office will be open on Wednesdays until 6pm.
Jamestown office will be open on Thursdays until 6pm.

Processing stops at 5:45 pm on these days, so transactions must begin before this time. Those not fully vaccinated must wear a mask and social distance per regulations set forth by the New York State Department of Health. Those fully vaccinated may go without a mask if they wish.
