State Police Investigate Shooting Incident Near Pine Valley School

October 2, 2019 By WRFA Radio Leave a Comment

CHERRY CREEK – New York State Police are investigating a shooting incident that took place at a farm in the town of Cherry Creek Tuesday morning.

Authorities say troopers responded to the Noble Farm on Route 83 around 6 a.m. to respond to a call of a reported shooting. An investigation found the victim – identified as 53 year-old Nelson Noble – was shot multiple times. He was transported by Mercy Flight to Erie County Medical Center and listed in guarded condition.

The location of the shooting was less than 200 yards away from Pine Valley Central School. It was closed Tuesday for precautionary measures due to the proximity to the incident.

The Jamestown Post-Journal is reporting that state police say they believe the shooting was targeted and there is no reason to believe there’s any danger to the public.

No additional information was provided about the possible suspect.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and NYSP Forensic Investigation Unit are assisting with this investigation. If anyone has information about this incident, contact the NYSP at 716-679-1520 or 585-344-6200.
