RIPLEY – The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office is reporting one person has died following a head-on automobile crash that took place Sunday night in the town of Ripley.
The crash took place on Route 20 just before 8 p.m. when a westbound vehicle, driven by 22-year-old Madison Dunlap of Ripley, collided with an eastbound vehicle, driven by 58-year-old Kim Robbins of Fredonia.
Dunlap was pronounced dead at the scene by Chautauqua County Coroner.
Robbins was transported to Brooks Memorial Hospital and then later to UPMC Hamot in Erie for treatment of injuries.
A portion of Route 20 was closed to traffic as a result of the crash.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
