JAMESTOWN – City police are investigating an armed robbery that took place Monday night at Tim Horton’s in Brooklyn Square.
According to a media release from the Jamestown Police Department, an Hispanic male entered the store – located at 21 S. Main St. – just before 10 p.m. on Monday, May 26. Police say that when the suspect entered the store, he immediately walked behind the counter and demanded cash from the cashier. The suspect did not display a weapon, but did hold his hand in his pocket like h may have had one. Once taking an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect then fled the store on foot, running toward the CVS pharmacy across the street. At the time of the incident there were several employees and customers in the restaurant.
Police describe the suspect as being a dark-skinned Hispanic male in his mid 20s, standing about 5’9 to 5’10” tall and weighing about 140 pounds. He was wearing a bulky jacket with a hood and red stitching, long blue jean shorts and white shoes.
Police say a surveillance camera was able to get an image of the suspect, but it was very poor quality.
