JAMESTOWN – City police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the person who allegedly fired a gun outside of a downtown nightclub early Sunday morning.

According to Jamestown Police, no one was injured in the incident, which took place at 12:30 a.m. Sunday outside of The Q on the corner of Cherry and W 2nd St. After an investigation, officers learned that an argument had taken place the business and continued into the street. At that time, witnesses say one of the people involved in the argument fired three shots toward several people as they stood in the area of West Second and Cherry streets.

Investigators are working to identify the shooter and a possible motive. He is described as a black male in his early to mid 20s, standing 6 feet tall and weighing 180 pounds.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Jamestown Police by calling 483-7530. They can also leave an anonymous tip on the department’s tip line at 483-Tips (8477). All calls will be kept confidential.
