SHERIDAN – An unidentified California resident was killed yesterday afternoon in the north county after being struck by a train. The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s office say the incident took place at 5 p.m. in the town of Sheridan. An investigation found that the individual was illegally riding a car on a CSX Train and fell from the train while it was in motion. The rider sustained fatal injuries from the fall and was found dead at the scene. Investigators say the subject’s name is currently being withheld until proper family members have been notified. The Silver Creek Police Department assisted at the scene.
