June 6, 2013 By WRFA Radio Leave a Comment

Heron - Hidden in HillsJAMESTOWN – A film screening of  Hidden in  the Hills –  a documentary film celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the  Great Blue Heron Music Festival – will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Robert H. Jackson Center’s theater.  The event is free and open to the public.

The filmmaker and festival organizers will also be there to answer questions.

“Hidden in the Hills” was directed and edited by Emmy award winner and SUNY Fredonia professor Mark Kiyak. Mark is currently an assistant professor of communications for SUNY Fredonia, who worked at NBC for many years and won two Emmys for his efforts on the 1996 and 2000 Olympics. The film was produced by Jane Jackson, SUNY Fredonia professor, who formerly managed Francis Ford Coppola’s studio.

The film includes archival footage, interviews with the creators and highlights of the 20th anniversary of the festival, which is held in Sherman, NY. The documentary has played at several film festivals including the Buffalo Niagara Film Festival and the Spirit Quest Film Festival in Edinboro, PA.

This year’s Blue Heron Music Festival is July 5,6,7. For festival information see: www.greatblueheron.com.
