June 27, 2016 By WRFA Radio Leave a Comment

Ellicott PoliceJAMESTOWN – Town of Ellicott Police say a Jamestown woman died from injuries she sustained while involved in a single-car accident Saturday night.

A media release sent out by Ellicott Police Monday morning says that 49 year-old Debra Wigren of Jamestown was the passenger in a vehicle driven by 42 year-old Mark Myers, also of Jamestown. Police say Myers was traveling northeast on Buffalo St. Ext. near Willard St. Ext. shortly before 10 p.m. Saturday when he lost control of the vehicle, went off the roadway and struck a tree.

Myers was extracted from the vehicle with the aid of the Falconer Fire Dept. and transported via Starflight to Hammot Medical Center in Erie. He was later taken to UPMC Hospital in Pittsburgh for his injuries.

Wigren was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The accident remains under investigation. Assisting at the scene were the New York State Police and the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office.
