JAMESTOWN – The Jamestown Police Department will be getting over $17,000 in federal funding to help with the purchase of a Mobile Speed Trailer and an Alco-Sensor, which is used in breathalyzer tests during DWI stops.
According to a media release sent out by the U.S. Department of Justice on Wednesday, the funding is part of more than $376 million in grant funding in 2019 used to enhance law enforcement operations and reinforce public safety efforts across the United States.
A total of $9.8 million will support public safety activities in and around Western New York.
