JAMESTOWN – A city man has been arrested following an attempted robbery Wednesday night at a 24-hour pharmacy and convenience store in Brooklyn Square.
City police say 31 year old Timothy Thomas is accused of entering the Rite Aid at 50 S. Main St. just after 11 p.m. and attempting to rob the business with the use of a gun. Thomas allegedly fled the scene and police were called in. Following an investigation, they were able to track Thomas to an apartment at 207 Spring St. in downtown Jamestown. He was taken into custody and charged with 1st degree Attempted Robbery, 1st degree Criminal Use of a Firearm, and 2nd degree menacing. He is currently in the city jail awaiting arraignment.
The County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Police and Lakewood-Busti police all assisted in the investigation.
