Jadlowski Indicted on Manslaughter Charge in Connection to Fatal Hunting Incident

December 1, 2017 By WRFA Radio 1 Comment

Thomas Jadlowski

JAMESTOWN – The Sherman man who authorities say shot and killed his neighbor while hunting the day before Thanksgiving has been indicted on a manslaughter charge.

On Thursday Chautauqua County District Attorney Patrick Swanson and County Sheriff Joe Gerace held a joint press conference and announced that 34-year-old Thomas Jadlowski surrendered himself to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office in connection once the charges were filed.

According to a media release from the sheriff’s office, 43-year-old Rosemary Billquist was out walking her dogs behind her Sherman home around 5:22 p.m. when Jadlowski shot and killed her, believing she was a deer. Jadlowski reportedly rushed to aid Billquist when he realized she was hit, and also called 911.

Jadlowski was arraigned Thursday in Chautauqua County Court on a two-count indictment, second-degree manslaughter and hunting after hours. The charges carry a potential prison sentence of five to 15 years if he is found guilty.

Jadlowski entered a not guilty plea in Chautauqua County Court and bail was set at $50,000 cash. He is due back in court on Jan. 29.

Guilty or not, this case has reasonable doubt written all over it. Waste of time.
