Conewango Man Charged with Rape Makes Plea Deal with DA, Faces 18 Years in Prison

December 11, 2019 By WRFA Radio Leave a Comment

Dennis Park, Jr.

JAMESTOWN – The Jamestown Post-Journal is reporting that the Conewango man who was facing two separate charges of sexual assault related to two separate incidents that took place in July 2018 has pleaded guilty in Chautauqua County Court to charges of first-degree rape and first-degree criminal sex act.

The plea deal came just as jury selection was about to get underway in the trial for Dennis Park Jr., who was initially charged with one count of first-degree rape and two counts of first-degree criminal sex act in connection to two alleged incidents that took place July 11 and July 18 in 2018 – one of which reportedly took place at the Robo Laundromat on Marion Street in Jamestown.

In August County Judge David Foley declared a mistrial in his first trial after declaring testimony that was provided in the case was hearsay.

As a result of the plea deal, Park is facing a total of 18 years in a state prison when sentenced in March 2020.
