City Police Seek Public’s Help in Weekend Shooting, Stabbings

December 18, 2018 By WRFA Radio Leave a Comment

JAMESTOWN – Jamestown Police are asking for the public’s help as they continue to investigate three separate violent incidents – one shooting and two stabbings – that took place this past weekend.

The first incident took place around 11:30 p.m. Saturday when a man was brought to UPMC Chautauqua, suffering from a stab wound in the arm. The male victim said he was sitting in a vehicle and was stabbed by an unknown person who walked up to him. The victim was reportedly not cooperative with replace and would not disclose where the incident occurred.

A second stabbing reportedly took place not long after early Sunday morning. City police say a man at a residence on East Eight Street reported being stabbed in the back. Police learned that the victim, who was also taken to UPMC Chautauqua, was assaulted at a different location and went to Eighth Street home seeking help. They add that the victim was also uncooperative with investigators.

A third person was injured after being shot in a suspected drive-by incident later Sunday morning. Police said the victim was shot multiple times in the arm following an argument in the area of 96 Falconer St. The shooter is believed to have been in a small silver sedan, which took off westbound on Falconer Street after the incident.

The victim in the shooting incident was taken to UPMC Chautauqua and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Police say he was also uncooperative with investigators.

Jamestown Police Captain Robert Samuelson said police believe all three victims were targeted and it the incidents were not random acts of violence.

Anyone with information is asked to contact JPD at 483-Tips (8477) or through the Tips 411 cellphone app.
