JAMESTOWN – City police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred early Wednesday morning at the 7-Eleven store located at the corner of East Second and Buffalo Streets.

According to a media release from the Jamestown Police Department, a man wearing a dark colored ski mask and armed with a knife entered the store at 3:05 a.m. and demanded cash. Police say the suspect was able to grab the entire cash drawer and left the store, fleeing on foot.

The suspect is described as being a dark skinned male in his 20s, standing about 5’6″ to 5′ 8″ and weighing 150 to 160 lbs. He was wearing a long sleeve red shirt with athletic shorts. The red shirt had a distinctive design on its front that may be familiar or recognizable to someone.

Anyone who may have information on the robbery or who may recognize the shirt the suspect is wearing is asked to call the Jamestown Police Department at 483-7537 or call the anonymous Tip Line at 483-8477. All calls will be kept confidential.
